Thank you Tony Elumelu Foundation for your belief in me when in 2012, you gave me an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to contribute to Nigeria’s development. As a Tony Elumelu Foundation Fellow, I had a fully funded position as the Senior Advisor to Akin Adesina, the then Minister of Agriculture, through an MOU with the Ministry. This novel and innovative initiative allowed me to fully contribute my skills to Nigeria’s Agricultural Transformation Agenda. I will forever be grateful to TOE. He continues to demonstrate how he does not just talk, but instead, uses actions to back his word. At the Opening Plenary Session at the World Economic Forum on Africa, in Durban, he urged us to hold our African leaders more accountable for action, and not just talk. He urged us to get the Power sector revving to ignite our economies and he urged us to focus on how to create jobs for Africa’s youth. To the Foundation, thank you for being an example in leadership.
