The Tony Elumelu Foundation holds its sixth Advisory Board meeting
Lagos, Nigeria; February 28, 2014 – The Tony Elumelu Foundation will today hold its sixth semi-annual Advisory Board meeting in Lagos, Nigeria, where board members will gather to review and provide direction to the pan-African philanthropy on its programmes and interventions. This year’s meeting will centre on a review of the Foundation’s first three years of operations, and flesh out its ambitious plans for the next five years.
Dr. Wiebe Boer, CEO of the Foundation, expressed his appreciation to the Board for their commitment to the Foundation’s goals and mission. He said, “We are deeply appreciative that this calibre of individuals are contributing their invaluable time and considerable networks to drive Africa’s economic transformation.”
The Foundation’s 2014 Advisory Board includes H.E. Shaukat Aziz, former Prime Minister of Pakistan; Stewart Paperin, Executive Vice President of the Open Society Foundation; Henrik Skovby, Founding Global Managing Partner of Dalberg; and Vimal Shah, CEO of the Bidco Group as returning members. Joining the Foundation for their first tenure are Lady de Rothschild, Chief Executive of E.L Rothschild LLC—a private investment company with investments in media, information technology, agriculture and real estate worldwide; Jamie Cooper-Hohn—co-Founder and Chair of the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation—one of the largest and most influential foundations in Europe; and Carol Civita of the Victor Civita Foundation, one of Brazil and Latin America’s leading foundations.
