Ifedayo Durosinmi-Etti Pays Her Knowledge Forward with the Launch of her new Book
It was a pleasure to support Ifedayo Durosinmi-Etti, in Lagos last Thursday, July 26th at the launch of her book “Accessing Grants for Startups”, which serves as a roadmap to funding opportunities for African entrepreneurs.
Having benefited tremendously from her participation in various business development opportunities, Ifedayo has attempted to pay some of her knowledge forward by carefully documenting valuable tips and strategies that aspiring entrepreneurs can leverage to attract greater funding.
As part of her launch, Ifedayo welcomed entrepreneurs and public-sector leaders from across Nigeria for a day full of networking, testimonials, and powerful insights into the world of SME Finance in Lagos.
Those in attendance had an opportunity to hear from industry powerhouses during an interactive panel session and watch as female entrepreneurs pitched their businesses for a chance to win up to N1,500,000 in cash prizes.
One of the highlights of the event was a testimonial given by Moji Aina, founder of POD Chocolates NG, who was inspired to re-apply for the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme this year after viewing an Instagram Live session hosted by Ifedayo teaching entrepreneurs how to apply for the Programme. Moji attributed much of her success to Ifedayo for teaching her how to vocalize her thoughts and “relate her business to truly impacting her community”.
Since receiving her very first seed capital from the Tony Elumelu Foundation in 2016, TEF Hub Lead and co-founder of Parliamo Bambini, Ifedayo Durosinmi-Etti has gone on to receive many other awards and funding opportunities, which have helped to propel her business to new heights. Today her business has become a household name as one of the premier kids’ furniture outfits in Nigeria.
By writing this book and identifying the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme as one of the first and leading opportunities for entrepreneurship development, Ifedayo’s contribution will play a great role in inspiring other entrepreneurs to act on their dreams and apply to be a part of our global network of African entrepreneurs.
