International Women’s Day Edition with Vicky Udomi
Vicky Udomi, who is also a female Tony Elumelu Entrepreneur and the CEO of Soakeez has made effective & strategic use of the TE Forum to foster her business growth. We caught up with Vicky who shared more insight on the progress of her business since the TEF Forum
TEF: Tell us about your journey to the Cherie Blair Foundation Road2growth Business Programme
VU: I received a mail from EDC Pan Atlantic University newsletter informing me of the Opportunity. I applied online and was selected as one of the 500 Women. Following the selection, we embarked on a six week in class and online financial Management training.
TEF: How has your business been faring since the TEF Forum?
VU: I started the packaging of Soakeez, our ready to drink garri packaged with peanuts or coconut chips, milk and sugar, I have also acquired a delivery van for my business and right now, I have 15 acres of cassava farm.
TEF: Have you been able to network with other Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurs for your business?
VU: Marketing my product was a big challenge as that is not a core area of strength for me but I leveraged on the strength of a Tony Elumelu Entrepreneur’s marketing outfit to bring my product to limelight.
