Tony Elumelu, the whiz kid of a good number of banking boardrooms appears to be living life anew. In fact, it seems like yesterday that this audacious whiz kid banker led the medium-sized Standard Trust Bank into an ambitious merger with United Bank for Africa. This cemented his corporate credentials across the African continent in 2005. That merger was then the largest in the banking sector in sub-Saharan Africa.
