Dedicated Africapitalism platform launches on AllAfrica.com
Lagos, 29 October 2013- AllAfrica.com, the leading source of African news, has added a section to their website that will be dedicated to Africapitalism – an economic philosophy being touted as the solution for Africa’s development.
The section will feature opinion, analysis and new perspectives that will stimulate debate around Africapitalism’s premise that the private sector has the power to transform the continent through long-term investment in key sectors, creating both economic prosperity and social wealth.
Tony O. Elumelu, CON, the chairman of Heirs Holdings and originator of the Africapitalism concept, said, “Africapitalism is a development plan whose time has come. Fifty plus years after the independence of many African countries we have yet to find a sustainable solution for our challenges. We strongly believe, because we have seen it in action, that Africapitalism is the way forward and will drive development in Africa. The site is a call to action for leaders in the public, private and development space to see more examples of Africapitalism and contribute their views to the debate.”
The Africapitalism page will showcase private-sector led initiatives in Africa that are addressing Africa’s most pressing challenges. It will also throw a spotlight on public sector leaders and the policies being put in place that create the enabling environment for businesses to flourish.
The AllAfrica.com Africapitalism page is designed to provide a forum to inform, debate and challenge ideas about the role business can play in development. The page will be the first port of call for anyone interested in learning more about Africapitalism.
